Miriam rows 22 hours non-stop and sets new race record!
Miriam finishes the 3,000 miles solo row unassisted across the Atlantic Ocean to set a new race record: Fastest Female Solo. Miriam took 59 days 16 hours 36 minutes to complete the biggest adventure of her life. She had rowed for 22 hours non-stop to get to the finish line.
Miriam has less than 500NM to go!!!
Again, at the time of writing this Miriam has passed another milestone! 🙌 She has now rowed three quarters of the way to Antigua. This we know will be a much needed boost for Miriam. The end is coming into sight now…👀 🏝️
Spending New Year with barnacles, flying fish, whales…oh and a shark!
I’m writing this, we got the news yesterday that Miriam has passed the half way mark! What an achievement for a solo rower. This I’m sure will be a big boost to her morale. Miriam is continuing to make good progress albeit a bit slower the last few days. This has been due to choppy seas and the weather conditions but things look to be improving over the weekend and into next week.
Miriam‘s Christmas Day on the Atlantic
We did miss Miriam but spoke to her twice on Christmas which was lovely. She said she was very much missing a roast turkey dinner. Fortunately, as we have our own turkeys’ provisions have been made to enjoy another Christmas dinner when she comes home. Miriam mentioned she has been craving for hot buttered toast and roast potatoes.
Miriam starts the race and gets featured on BBC Breakfast!
Well, what a week it’s been! We arrived back in England to sub zero temperatures. After 5 days in La Gomera it was a shock to the system.
After 3 years of planning my husband Christopher and I were finally in La Gomera to wave Miriam off on the biggest adventure of her life.
